Mileage: 100 Mi.
Companion Claim: For first out rested Conductor and Engineer.

If an employee is required to operate beyond the limits of their assignment they are entitled to a penalty payment of one basic day.

You will be asked for the following information when tying up;

  • Start and Stop time. (Time when you left and then re-entered your bulletined territory.)
  • Start Milepost. (Location you left your bulletined territory.)
  • Turn around location. (The point you stopped and either left the train and got in a van or started back the other way to go re-enter your bulletined territory.)
  • Who Authorized the Move. (Trainmaster, Dispatcher, Etc.)
  • Ex.1 You are working the North K-Train and are asked to take a train from Everett to Ferndale. Because the job is bulletined to only operate between Everett and Mp 80.9 (N. Bow), you would be due a basic day.

Note: While this claim pays a basic day it also goes against your over time if you made the move while on overtime.

  • Ex. You are working a 100 mile Road Switcher that goes on overtime after 8 hours and is duty at 0800. At 1700, you are asked to move a train beyond the limits of your assignment, this move takes you from 1700-1800. You work all 12 hours and at tie up claim an RO. You would be due a basic day for the RO, and 3 hours of overtime, as the move took 1 hour.
